There’s a strange comfort in shouting into the void. Maybe that’s why I’ve finally started this blog.
Welcome to Parish Rule, a home for big thoughts, daft ideas, and everything in between. This is where I’ll write about the things that keep me curious, annoyed, inspired, or just wide awake at 2 a.m. Some posts will dig into the serious stuff. Others might spiral into nonsense. All of it will be written honestly.
I’m not trying to be a pundit, influencer, or thought leader. I’ve no interest in growing an audience for the sake of it. This blog is a way of thinking out loud. A place to scratch the itch. A space that feels a bit more permanent than social media and a bit less polished than the usual professional fare.
It’ll swing between local and global, ancient and futuristic, dead serious and completely unserious. Expect the occasional obsession. The odd conspiracy. The kind of topics that don’t fit neatly into categories but refuse to leave your head. This won’t be a tidy feed. That’s the point.
The name Parish Rule comes from two places: the idea of close-to-home authority (for better or worse), and the sense that life here, especially in Ireland, still moves at the pace of the local. It’s also a nod to old institutions, half-forgotten rules, and the weird power of small places.
I’ll post once a week, give or take. You can expect pieces that question the obvious, challenge the powerful, or just revel in the wonderfully strange. The first proper post is coming soon. It’s about kids, tech, and who we really blame when things go wrong online.
Until then, thanks for reading. Welcome to the parish.
